Review: Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream NO 27: Honey Beige

(photo: Amazon)
Hi everyone today's review is on the Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream NO 27: Honey Beige. I tried this BB cream after hearing really good reviews on both blogs and Youtube. One of the reasons I never really used BB creams before is because I could never find a brand that had a shade dark or yellow enough for my complexion. When I saw that Missha had a yellow toned BB cream I was super excited to try it. I picked this up at my local Asian beauty shop in LA. This retails for about $27 dollars, its a bit pricey but after using it for a decent amount of time I have come to the conclusion that it is worth it!
This BB cream is light on the skin yet has very good coverage. This BB cream probably has the highest level of coverage. It is comparable to a medium coverage foundation. This BB cream is formulated to lighten the skin, even skin tone, and help prevent wrinkles. This also has an SPF of 42+++, despite having such a high SPF there is very little white cast in flash photography. I like this BB cream because it gives me very good coverage, it feels light on my skin and it holds up well to my oily skin. One pump is enough for my face, I have acne scars on my cheeks and this is able to cover up the redness perfectly. Sometimes I don't even need concealer.
Another plus is the packaging of this product. The BB cream is in a squeeze tube with a pump. That is probably the best packaging ever for a foundation. You can get every last drop of the BB cream without wasting a thing. The pump also makes it extremely hygienic and clean.
This is a good buy, something I would definitely repurchase!

Review: Ulta double Duty Concealer & Dark Circle Treatment

Hello!  Ulta was having a buy one get one free sale and I have been looking for a few things and I was at the face section and I saw this and was intrigued. This is a concealer and dark circle treatment and I'm always out on the look  for products that could potentially save me from my dark circles
This is a light to medium coverage concealer. I wasn't overtly impressed with the coverage, it covered my dark circles but it wasn't amazing.
I hate the packaging! At first I thought I was going to love the roller ball application but for this concealer it is the worst thing Ulta could have thought of. The roller ball doesn't move unless you press super hard. That pulls on the skin and doesn't even roll out evenly. The packaging says to glide on the skin, its more like an un-moving marble tugging on your under eye skin. Not very comfortable.  Extremely patchy and barely any product comes out at all. The consistency is too thick to roll and can't be used that way.

I de-potted the concealer in to a little pot thinking I would use the product as a regular concealer but honestly I don't go out of my way to grab this product for under eye concealing. It does the job but I have other concealers that packaging actually work and perform better.
My vote: not worth it!

Review: Lush Bath Bomb in Sakura

Hi everyone! Today's review is on my first ever bath bomb from Lush. I picked up Sakura at my local Lush store. I have always been intrigued by Lushes bath bombs and heard many good thing about their products. Bath Bombs are fun ways to make bath time fun and relaxing. Bath bombs infuse the bath water with fragrance and essential oils to help relax the user and add something special to a boring bath.

Sakura Bath Bomb's scent smells like Sakura blossoms and hints of Jasmine  This has many floral notes and
its main scent is of flowers, however it also has a fresh herbal scent with hints of citrus as the last note. This scent is very relaxing and has a soothing effect when used. The fresh floral scent in the bathroom coupled with the warm water creates an environment of relaxation and calm. What's also nice is that this floral scent is very light and gentle, with strong floral scents I can get really bad headaches and this didn't do that to me. My boyfriend also loved this bomb, the scent is "boyfriend approved" as he called it, because its floraly but not super girly. So this is a very good bomb to share with significant others.
In the bath the bomb fizz and bubbles for about 2 minutes before completely dissolving  The effects in the bath are simple and basic, this doesn't color the water only makes it milky kind of like unfiltered sake. Soaking in the bath water left my skin feeling soft and moisturized  I loved how my skin felt all over my body my skin felt softer and gently perfumed with Sakura and Jasmine. The scent stayed on my skin for a good while, I'd say a hour and using this before bed time puts you in the mood to sleep and unwind.
I also found out that if you use this in a jacuzzi the effects of the bomb intensify   The color stays milker longer and bubbles with form and pop with the scent of citrus. When the water is drained from the bath I didn't find it to have a reside inside the tub and it rinsed out clean with no hassle.
A couple of things I don't like about this product overall is that the bath bombs in general are very messy and crumble which makes it difficult to store or if I wanted to split it in half. The amount of mess that would come from that would just not be worth it. Also for a one time use item $6.45 is very pricey. Tho this is a very nice product for daily use the bath bombs are just too expensive  But once in a while and when ever I happen to pass by a Lush store again I will probably pick up another one to try.
Overall I really like Sakura as a bath bomb and bath bombs in general. Its a very fun way to make bath time interesting and relaxing. Sakuras soft floral scent relaxes and calms the body while moisturizing the skin. I find the price point to be a little steep but this is most defiantly a fun once in a while treat for your skin and bath.

Sunday Goodies!: Christmas Shopping for New Skincare!

Seaweed Clarifying Toner: This is a refreshing toner that leaves my skin feeling clean and tingly and the best part is that alcohol isn't in the top five list if ingredients. This uses menthol for that tingly clean skin feel.

Aqua Fortis Instant Hydra Boost Serum: This is very light weight and super hydrating serum. For some reason my skin is exceptionally dry this winter season so I thought to give this shot to see if it will help.

Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion: I got this in the hopes of it helping in fading my acne scares. This uses tea tree and has a very strong scent. Iv used it a couple times, and overall I like it for now.

My Beauty Diary: Orange Blossom and White Lotus Sleep Concentrate: This was on sale and I was looking for a sleep mask. This has orange blossoms and white lotus to help retain moisture, This is also lightly scented with orange blossom and it smells amazing. I have been using this as a sleeping pack at night.

Kio Pearly White Eye Enhancing Gel: Thanks to my Aunty she picked me up this eye cream for my dark circles. She loves it and I wanted to give it a shot.

Naruko: Apple seed and Tranexamic Acid White Hydra Milk: I have been wanting to try out Naruko products for a while and I was talking to the lady and I told her I wanted something that could help with my acne scaring she recommended  this and I gonna give it a shot!

I hope every one had a great Christmas and spent time with friends and Family. Happy New Years lets make 2013 a memorable one!

Review: Elizabeth Arden Good Morning Eye Treatment

Today I have a review on an eyecream that I have been in love with for quite a while. Back in 2011 I was looking around for an eyecream that I could use daily and not be paying 20+ every time  I was shopping at Marshals one day and came across Elizabeth Arden products and this was there. This was 9.99 and I love it!  Marshals has a wide range ot Elizabeth Arden products and I can always find this when I stop by.
This is a daily eye cream that is formulated to help with tired eyes and dark circles. This helps to reduce puffiness and dark circles. This is very moisturizing and it claims to dry matte but I always put a concealer on top. This is fragrance free and is suitable for contact wearers. This doesn't irritate my eyes or stings.  This small tube last along time. I use less than a pea size amount of product every day in the morning for both eyes  and  this tube can easy last me 6 months. For 10$ this is a great price.
I find this cream to be very hydrating and smoothing. This has helped with my under circles and When I used this my dark circles look lighter and less terrible. This is great under makeup. It absorbs well into the skin and doesn't change the effect of makeup on top.  This has a cooling  feel and is very  comfortable on the skin.
The packaging is nice. I like that its a squeeze tube, it helps to be more hygienic and convenient  instead of a pot form like most eye creams are, this makes it easier, faster and cleaner to use and apply.

Overall I enjoy this product a lot. Its a great inexpensive everyday eye cream  absorbs fast into the skin and works great at minimizing and helping my dark circles and puffy eyes in the morning.

Review: Loreal Magic BB Cream in Medium

More reviews for the win, I told you guys I have been trying out a lot of stuff and I finally have some time to put my thoughts on paper, or in this case my blog :P lol any way on to the review.
Today's review is on the New Loreal BB cream, Magic Skin Beautifier BB in medium. I got this at Walmart for $7 I think but I've seen this as high as $12, which is insane for a a drugstore product. But any way besides the point I have the shade Medium and the idea behind this BB cream is the color changing beads in the cream, identical to the Almay's smart shade makeup that I lived by in high school. This BB cream is the Westerns attempt to break into the Asian BB cream market. BB cream essentially stands for blemish balm and in Asia, BB cream is a skincare and makeup item in one, usually has benefits of whiting, completion perfecting and SPF.  The Western versions are nothing like the Asian counterparts. Western BB creams are essentially tinted moisturizers with BB cream slapped in the title. That being said I like this product.
This claims to do 4 things primes, perfects, hydrate, and correct. This comes in three shades, light, medium, and dark. That is the one thing about Western BB creams that is better than Asian BB creams. They cater to a wider range of skin tones which makes it a much easier product to like when its in your skin tone range.

The product packaging is very simple and clean. The dispensing of the product is very easy to, the bottle is a squeeze tube and it makes for easy access of the product and easy to measure out exactly how much you need. The bottle makes for hygienic application. This product comes out white from the tube and it has beads suspended in the product. As you rub it on the face the beads will burst and change to best fit your skin tone. This product has light to medium coverage. It goes on my skin very smoothly and blends very easily.
This drys to a matte satin finish. This is very moisturizing which is great in the winter time when my shin is dryer that normal. This has a tinted moisturizer effect and because of that its not very long lasting but it does last long enough to get me though my day. Id say it lasted max 6 hours and then it started to break down. I have oily combo skin and it started fading around my forehead and cheeks.
Overall I like this product. This is very hydrating, my skin doesn't feel dry with this on and it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. This does help in reducing my redness from acne but doesn't eliminate it. It just lessen the redness  I still have to use a concealer to hide acne scars but is good a evening out pigmentation. If I had scar free skin and just redness I would love this more but I don't :(  I like that this hasn't broken me out.

My Beauty Diary Mask

Hello Hello, Today's not gonna be a review but a overlook. I came across these masks at a 99 Ranch in Rowland Hts on sale for cheap! 8.00 on sale. I recently came back from a quick trip from So-Cal, to look at schools and we stopped by for grocery and bam, I see these on sale and had a little freak out.  I have heard many good things about these mask and have been wanted to try them for awhile now and I get too. YAY ^_^

Review: H2O+ Water Activated Eyemakeup Remover

Today's review is on H2O+ Water Activated Eye makeup Remover, I got this at my local Marshals for 6-7 dollars. This is my second bottle and I love this stuff. This is a water activated gel that lathers into a soft creamy eye makeup remover that will gently remove non-water proof makeup.  So this is great for days with regular eyeshadow and normal mascara. H2O states that this is an "oil free, fragrance free gel that gently foams away eye makeup and mascara with out irritation or dryness. "
This is a clear gel product that required water to start lather. It is a very gentle cleanser that is non irritating and doesn't sting the eyes. This is my favorite way of removing my eye makeup because it is the gentlest . On days when I'm wearing regular mascara and eyeliner and a little bit of eyeshadow, this works beautifully. However I can't use this when I'm wearing waterproof mascara, this isn't strong enough to break down or dissolve waterproof mascara, it leave too much mascara left and I would have to go back with a wipe.
That being said I still really like this stuff. I think its an awesome eye makeup remover for normal/ regular eye makeup.

Review: Neutrogena Power-Cream Wash

This is a review on the Neutrogena Power-Cream Wash.
This is a cream base face wash that design to help with the prevention of acne and treat acne. I bought this at my local Target for 5-6 dollars on sale. Ive had this product for a while now and I have completely finished it. There is nothing left in the tube which is surprising because I never finish this kind of product. Usually I find something new and move on. I think however the reason I finished it is because I left it in my  shower and used it as my morning face wash. Overall though I didn't really like it.
The texture of the product is very creamy and very gentle, so gentle that it doesn't clean my face adequately at night. This is a very smooth cleanser with no added texture so there is really nothing to agitate the skin. If I were to just use this to cleanse my face I would have to go in with something else to get the residue left.
I do however love this in the morning. The cleanser is very refreshing and leaves a tingly feeling to the skin once washed away so makes for a great refresher in the morning. And also because it is such a light  and gentle cleanse I find this to be a good morning cleanser. It is non-stripping so my skin doesn't feel stripped of moister and leaves my skin feeling hydrated.  As an acne cleanser id say its okay, I didn't see any significant difference in my skin from using it, but it also didn't make it any worse.

Review: Elizabeth Arden: Clear the Way Mask.

This has become my holy grail product for my acne prone skin.  When I discovered this and the results I got from using this product I was so excited. This cleanser/ mask has help my skin clear up and stay clear for almost 6 months now. I still do get the occasional pimple but overall my skin has been very good to me and I can honestly say it is because of this product. I came upon this product randomly at my local Marshalls and because I heard good things about Elizabeth Arden products in general I decided to give this cleanser a shot.
I am so happy I did. This was only 5.99 at Marshalls and it retails for almost $30 at a department store. Major deal and when I found out how good it is to my skin I hunted them down from all the Marshall in my area. I'm stocked up for a while now.
The texture of this product is of a thick grainy paste that acts like an exfoliate and cleanser. Though the title of the product states "mask", its really not. Its a very textured paste that is better for cleansing and exfoliate. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and if I let is sit on my skin for a few minutes as a "mask" it leave my skin feeling very soft and moisturized. For everyday use it may be a bit much and for skin that is already pretty sore and has large active acne I would not use this. This is more of a "keep the pimples and break outs away and to never form".  kind of product. A skin care upkeep. I like to use this about 2-3 times a week to give my skin a perk up.
This is fragrance free and dermatologist tested, so it should be suitable for people with sensitive skin. The bottle holds 3.6 oz of product for a merger price of 5 -6 dollars is a great price. And even though I stocked up on backups I am still working on my fist bottle of this stuff. You need very little to cleanse your face.
my skin April 2011
 My skin now Oct 2011
(ps: I have no foundation/bb cream on, just mattifying powder which is translusent)
As you can see the acne has disappeared from my cheeks and forehead. very happy :)
Overall great find. A repurchase for sure. I highly recommend this for people with acne prone skin. It really helped me and maybe you too :)

Review: Eucerin Everyday Protection SPF 30

Eucerin Face lotion for sensitive skin. SPF 30
Now I don't have sensitive skin but I bought this because I needed/wanted a new face lotion that had a higher spf. the one I was using previously was only 15 and I wanted one that had at least an spf of 30. I got mine at Target for about 6/7 dollars on sale. That not a bad price. Its about the same price per bottle as the Aveeno Totally Radiance moisturizer I get in bulk at Costco. One of my favorite daily moisturizers. This is a light weight face lotion that is a milky white color and a slippery texture.  This claims to to fragrance free but it has a light scent of sunscreen but it dissipates after a few minutes.  By itself I hate this product. It doesn't absorb into my skin well and I can feel it sit on my skin all day long. Especially when it by itself and I go to work out outside by the end of the workout I see white streaks of sunscreen on my face and neck.  It was really bothering me so I stopped using it. This never broke me out but I couldn't stand the feel of the product on my skin.
However I found a way to make this product to work for me. Layering! is the key. For me this a layering type of product. By itself it is too thin to really offer any moisturizing effects and is too thin, even for day to day use. So I apply this as my last step in my morning skin care routine, for my sun protection regimen. When I layer this product it seems to absorb better and doesn't make my skin feel nasty.
Overall I like this product layered. I don't like it by itself which makes it a huge disappointment.

First Impressions: Fango Brillante Mud Mask.

Borghese Fango Brilliante Brightening Mud Mask for Face and Body

The mask comes in a heavy duty glass jar with snap clasp closer that securely seals the mask in the jar.
the size of the jar is pretty substantial. The jar hold 17.6 oz of product so it will last me quite a while. It has a light rose scent. I saw this at Costco about two weeks ago and I immediately grabbed it. It was $28 with an $8 coupon so it was a great deal and I could've wait to go home and try it.

First off let me say, that this is NOT a mask for people with sensitive skin. The packaging states that it is suitable for all skin types but this is strong stuff. It has a very powerful and borderline painful tingly sensation as the mask dries on the skin. It is especially tingly on areas that naturally collect sebum, such as the t-zone, and for me, the back of my cheeks. I was shocked at how strong it was but I could also feel the mask drawing out the nastyness out of my pores and when I washed it off my skin felt great, and refreshed.

I wanted this mask for its brightening  and skin-evening property, so we will have to wait and see how that goes. I will probably to an in-dept review on this mask at the end of June to see if there was any results.Over all though I really like the mask, it leaves my skin feeling clean and I can see that after one use my pores were visible smaller.

Best summertime Facial Sunscreen

The Neutrogena ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 70 is by far my favorite facial sunscreen.
It is a light weight non greasy feeling sunscreen that does not break me out. I like to put this on after my moisturizer and let it absorb into my skin for at least 5 minutes before I do any other makeup. I doesn't make me excessively greasy or make my face feel heavy. At first I was a little worried that it would leave a white cast on my face because the SPF is so high but it surprisingly didn't and it blended right into my skin in seconds. The consistency of the sun screen is of a watered down cream. It is one of the thicker sunscreens I've tried but it is easily bendable and dries to a matte finish, perfect for people with combo to oily skin.

This is also waterproof and sweat proof so it is a perfect sunscreen for the  really hot summer days. This is does have a slight fragrance, but it mostly smells like regular old sunscreen.  This provide protection from both UVA and UVB rays. This retails for about 9-11 dollars depending where you get it. I however got my at Costco last summer, two for $14. Even though it is about a year old it still in the same condition as it was last year. It hasn't developed any discoloration or smell.

For me this is a summer must have and I never step outside of my house without this on :)
