Trick to Silky Straight Hair

When I was really young I had super straight, long hair. I never had to worry about frizz or flyways but as I got older and began to style my hair more, I noticed that my hair started to lose its bone straight appearance and started to changing to have slight wave in the strands. I've actually come to love my new hair, it give me more body and shape to my hair with out having to style it. But there are days when I want bone straight hair and it took me a while to figure out a combo of products that could give me straight hair with out weighing it down.
My trick is to start with damp hair and use a in leave in conditioner spray and my current favorite is the Aussie Hair Insurance leave in conditioner. I like doing this trick when I do morning showers and when my hair is still damp I spray this all over my hair and try to coat as much hair with as few spritz as possible. I like this one because it smells like coconuts. It also acts like a detangler, which is a god send for me, as my hair gets longer it gets extremely knotted and tangled even after I condition it in the shower.
After the spray is worked into the hair I finish off with Biosilk. I use only a quarter size amount of product and massage it into the strands only middle to tip. I avoid the roots to avoid an oil scalp. I picked this up for $17 at Ulta and I'm glad I did. This helps to smooth out my hair while protecting  and adds a great shine.
I apply this with my hands and smooth it onto my hair. What I really like about this is that I can use this wet or dry. This is the final step to my trick. Biosilk adds the needed shine and slick to my hair that makes it stays strait and smooth. Another plus is that this smells amazing and it last a while in my hair.

This combo of products has helped me in keeping my hair nourished and  looking healthy.  I like to use the leave in conditioner everyday just to keep my hair detangled and conditioned and this combo help me to get my straight hair. I highly recommend both of these products! I hope this trick helps you achieve straight, smooth silky hair!
Granted I know I already have mostly straight hair this trick can still work with anyone. This could be a finishing step to freshly straitened hair to add shine and silkiness. Never the less I hope this helps!

Review: Macadamia Deep Repair Masque

Today I have a review on a leave in conditioner. This is the really popular Macadamia Deep Repair Masque. I got this at Ulta for $33. (I found this cheaper at Target and online but I was un-smart and didn't shop around before I purchased this :[ ) This tub hold 8.5 fl oz and for 33 buck that pretty steep but I musts say that even for my medium long hair I have gotten many uses out of this product and I still have half a tub. I bought this in the June of 2012 and till now December 2012 this has lasted me quite a while. I like to use this once a week. This is insanely expensive and I was almost tempted to not get it but I was desperate for a repair mask for my hair. Ever sense I attempted my at home ombre hair dye my hair has become really dry and overall looks dry and unhealthy. I wanted to get this because I heard many people say that this one is really good. I have to agree! Happily this is a miracle worker for my hair.
After one use of this conditioner my hair came back to life. After my shower and my hair air dried it was soft, light, and felt healthy again.  This is a leave in deep conditioner so this stays in my hair for at least 10 minutes so the first thing I do is wash my hair and then apply this and let it sit while I do my shower routine and at the end it has had time to soak into my hair. This conditioner is thick and really sticks to the hair. It really acts like a mask and can penetrate the hair shaft and rinse out clean. A product like this I ONLY apply to my mid shaft and ends, I can't put this in my scalp because this is so rich and moisturizing that this will weigh down my hair and make it look flat and limp. I have fine hair and I have to have volume so this product says far away from my scalp and roots.
This has a strong  scent, the scent is hard to describe but its a very pleasant scent and it will linger in your hair all day. I personally like the smell, It makes my hair smell good all day long.
I love this product, this has saved my hair from being dry and dead to soft, smooth and shiny.

PS: what also works is a good haircut but NAH! I want my Pocahontas hair back so NOPE only trims to keep the split ends at bay:) Till next time!

Hair Tools: Conair Instant Heat 1 Inch Curling Iron

Hair Tools! Today's Review is on my one of my favorite hair tools;  the curling iron. The one I have is by Conair, and it is the 1 inch Instant Heat iron. I got this at Target for under 10 dollars. I think I payed $9.99. I picked this iron out because it has a
  1. Swival cord
  2. long extension cord
  3. Ajustable heat settings
  4. "turbo" instant heat setting
  5. Simple on and off button
I really like this Iron, this iron heats up incredibly fast I can plug it in and press the on button and in literally 30 seconds the iron is hot and ready to go. And if I push the turbo button it heats even faster. I love this function! It makes the iron heat up so fast its ridiculous and makes this iron perfect for people who don't like waiting or don't have the time to wait for an iron to heat up. This iron has a swivel base and a nice long cord. My biggest peeve is when the cord is ridiculously short. The clamp has a good grip on the hair, so my hair doesn't slip through.
At the base of the iron is a dial that controls the temperature. It has a range from 1 to 25.  I like to keep it at 18-19 for my fine hair. 1-10 is for easy to curl hair, 10-20 for medium difficulty to curl, and 20-25 wound be for hair that is super stubborn.  This iron is great. With this iron I get beautiful curls that last a long time. With this I can create lush curls or bomb shell waves ^_^ lol

Great drug store iron, for $10 this is great. Creates long lasting bouncy curls. LOVE!

Review: Herbal Essences: Leave-In Protector Conditioner

This is a review on Herbal Essences: Leave-In Protector Conditioner this is a leave in conditioner and I love this stuff, it leave my hair silky smooth and smells amazing. It has a very fruity floral scent that stays in my hair all day. If your not a big scent person you might not like this but the scent is very pleasing and not overpowering at all. Your hair isn't going to smell like you dumped a whole bottle of perfume on it, it more like you'll catch a whiff in the wind. I use this every day after I get out of the shower. I towel dry my hair for a bit and then I apply this to the ends of my hair only and then I wrap my hair in a towel to let it absorb the extra moisture and I get ready for the day.
This is a very light weight leave in conditioner and drys with no residue. My hair acts and feels like it has nothing in it which I love because I hate the feeling of my hair with product in it. Especially if it feels heavy and greasy. I have fine, bone straight hair and almost anything can weigh it down and make it extremely flat.  Over time I noticed that my hair is a lot softer and shiner. I payed about 5-6 dollar for this bottle that is 6 Fl big and I though what a rip off but this product very little one and a half pumps with coat all of my hair.
Overall very good stuff, if you have dry damaged hair whether from styling or dye jobs check this out I like it.

Review: TRESemme Thermal Creation: Heat Tamer Spray.

Review time!

I have been heat styling my hair for a long time. I'd say going on since junior year of high school. That was  when I grew out my pixie cut and started styling.
Now I can say that I blow dry my hair every morning  every day of the week except Sundays.  And because I have that habit I have to take protective measures for my hair care. This hair protectant comes in a 8 fl ounce bottle with a trigger spray nozzle. It is about 7 dollars at Target and one bottle last me about 4-5 months. That is with every day use and it will last even longer with inconsistent use. It also has a lock on the handle that you push to lock the trigger. Convenient for travel. This is a very fine mist and has a very pleasant scent. When I spray it onto my damp hair it leaves a light scent in my hair. It doesn't last very long so if it isn't to your liking it shouldn't be too much of a con.  I like it, but I heard ways to test the effectiveness of heat protectant is to spray in on the back of your hand and blow dry it to so see how long before your hand heats up. When I tested it my hand actually heated up pretty fast, so its kinda skeptical now to me but I still continue to use it.
