Review: Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream NO 27: Honey Beige

(photo: Amazon)
Hi everyone today's review is on the Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream NO 27: Honey Beige. I tried this BB cream after hearing really good reviews on both blogs and Youtube. One of the reasons I never really used BB creams before is because I could never find a brand that had a shade dark or yellow enough for my complexion. When I saw that Missha had a yellow toned BB cream I was super excited to try it. I picked this up at my local Asian beauty shop in LA. This retails for about $27 dollars, its a bit pricey but after using it for a decent amount of time I have come to the conclusion that it is worth it!
This BB cream is light on the skin yet has very good coverage. This BB cream probably has the highest level of coverage. It is comparable to a medium coverage foundation. This BB cream is formulated to lighten the skin, even skin tone, and help prevent wrinkles. This also has an SPF of 42+++, despite having such a high SPF there is very little white cast in flash photography. I like this BB cream because it gives me very good coverage, it feels light on my skin and it holds up well to my oily skin. One pump is enough for my face, I have acne scars on my cheeks and this is able to cover up the redness perfectly. Sometimes I don't even need concealer.
Another plus is the packaging of this product. The BB cream is in a squeeze tube with a pump. That is probably the best packaging ever for a foundation. You can get every last drop of the BB cream without wasting a thing. The pump also makes it extremely hygienic and clean.
This is a good buy, something I would definitely repurchase!

Review: Ulta double Duty Concealer & Dark Circle Treatment

Hello!  Ulta was having a buy one get one free sale and I have been looking for a few things and I was at the face section and I saw this and was intrigued. This is a concealer and dark circle treatment and I'm always out on the look  for products that could potentially save me from my dark circles
This is a light to medium coverage concealer. I wasn't overtly impressed with the coverage, it covered my dark circles but it wasn't amazing.
I hate the packaging! At first I thought I was going to love the roller ball application but for this concealer it is the worst thing Ulta could have thought of. The roller ball doesn't move unless you press super hard. That pulls on the skin and doesn't even roll out evenly. The packaging says to glide on the skin, its more like an un-moving marble tugging on your under eye skin. Not very comfortable.  Extremely patchy and barely any product comes out at all. The consistency is too thick to roll and can't be used that way.

I de-potted the concealer in to a little pot thinking I would use the product as a regular concealer but honestly I don't go out of my way to grab this product for under eye concealing. It does the job but I have other concealers that packaging actually work and perform better.
My vote: not worth it!

Review: Sephora Outrageous Metallic Taupe: Picture&Swatches

Hello everyone! I was at Sephora over the past weekend and I was in the clearance section looking around and I found this jewel! I remember Beauty Broadcast raving about this shade of taupe from Sephora and I had to get it to try it. I;m so glad I did, every thing Emily said was true. This rich and creamy shadow applies super smooth on to the lids and truly can act like a one eye look. This is a pigmented pressed shadow with a textured  layer.  I just have to load up my brush once and it will give my lids the most beautiful wash of color on. This applies to the lid like a silver dark gray and will fade a almost purple color in the crease when blended. This is super beautiful and a great pick. This was only $7 on clearance and if  you come across this shade at Sephora I highly recommend you pick it up!
Here are some close up picture of the shadow, you can really see the texture and the color.

This is an eye look I did using only the Taupe shade.
I really hope everyone can find this color and pick it up!
Hope you enjoyed this post!

Review: Tarte Amasonian Clay waterproof Brow Moose

Hi everyone! As some of you may know I am a brow junkie. I love having shapely and defined brows all day , everyday! I picked this gem up at  Hautelook sale a while back and I have been using it ever sense I got it. This retails for $28 at full price, which is a little excesses for such a small item... This little jar holds 3.4g of product but it was on sale for $12 on the site. This came with a double ended spoolie brush. One end is a dense angle brush that is firm and the other a spoolie brush used to comb and blend the product through the brows.
This tiny little thing packs a punch and I am happy to say that a little goes a long way. This waterproof formula last forever on my brows and I have barely made a dent. I have been using this for a good while, I'd say about 3 months and I have barely broke though the top layers. I still have a almost full jar and this is my everyday brow product. This hasn't shown any signs of drying out at all, there is no separation from the sides of the jar and the texture has stayed the same. In the jar its creamy yet dry (wax like) so when it is applied to the brows it holds like a wax cream and dries to a  powder finish. When it is finished setting it gives a very clean defined brow, yet very soft  as if I were to use powder to fill them in. It holds my brow hairs in place all day and the color never fades.
This product is waterproof and is a god send in the summer. Humidity, sweat and water proof. I love this. With the rate of how slowly I am using this product up this will last me a long time so the price tag isn't so bad. I think its worth it and I will definitely repurchase this full price. I just love it that much
I hope this review was helpful guys!

Review: Loreal Volume Collogen Mascara (Waterproof)

Hello all! Today I have a review on a new mascara I recently got.  This is the Loreal Volume Collagen Mascara (Waterproof) This is marketed as a volume mascara that will give lots of volume with no flakes. This has fibers inside the formula that help to add lots of volume. This is packaged in a sleek black tube with a transparent blue top. This has a large fiber wand that holds a lot of product. I have to wipe off the excess with tissue every time I use it. The formula is very dry and clumpy. This is hard to work with because it doesn't glide through my lashes. I clumps up and the base and doesn't fully coat my lashes.  I leaves me with bumpy rough lashes with only two coats. I dislike this. For being a volume mascara this gives me no drama, or big dramatic lashes. They look like clumpy spider legs. What this does do is that it hold a curl and is flake free all day. Still very unpromising, this claimed to do a lot and it failed in all most department. Not a good buy, there are plenty others to get that offer a lot more and actually perform to their claims, this was a big fail. time to toss it.

Review: Revlon Photoready cream Blush in Pinched 100

Hi everyone! Today I have a review on a new blush I picked up really recently. Its the Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Pinched. I bought this at Walmart for $10.00 but I have seen it range from 10-12 bucks elsewhere.  At first I was on the fence about the price. A drugstore blush to be 10+  is pretty pricey but I wanted to try it and I turns out I like it! This is packaged very simply in a pot with a black lid and the product name and color on the front. the back is transparent so the product is completely visible. The set up is nice and simple and the size is easy to store. Some might be deterred to this product because it's in a pot form and see it as unsanitary but all I have to say is to just keep the hands clean before use and the product should be okay.
This is a cream blush that glides on smooth and gives a soft tinge of color to the cheeks.  Pinched is a soft peach color with golden shimmers. The shimmer doesn't really show on the skin so the effect this blush gives is very soft and satin like. Pinched is a very sheer blush that only tints the cheeks on first application but this is a build able blush and at full potential this is gorgeous  Pinched on me makes my cheeks glow from within and give me a very healthy and awake appearance.  I love wearing this when I wear "minimal" makeup because it looks like I have nothing on, just a very healthy, just out of the cold cheek tinge.
The texture of this blush out of the pot is very soft and creamy. The product feels very light and smooth on the skin and is very bendable  I like to take my middle and ring fingers together to get the product and tap it onto my cheeks. I find this blush to blend very easily and seamlessly in to my cheeks. And because this blush is a sheer and build able product I love the ease and forgiveness this blush has. In stead of me worrying about if ill put to much on and spend time blending, this I can apply and lightly blend and I'm done. If I want more color I can add more.
Now the down side of this blush being so sheer is that at some times I am using a good amount of the product at one time so I can potentially see this product running out much faster than normal but for me that is okay. Overall I really like this blush, yea its sheer but its forgiving and very manageable. I like my products to be easy to work with and for those who need to work fast.
Happy Chinese New Year!
Its the Year of the Snake!

Review: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in 130 Shell Coquillage

Hi Everyone! Today I have a review on the New Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in the color 130 Shell Coquillage. I picked this up at my local Walmart for $7 and some change. I've seen this average about 7-8 dollars at Walmart and Target and about $7-$12 at other places like CVS, or Ride Aid. This is Revlon's newest foundation. Revlon claims for this to give the face a fresh even look, without the look of makeup, so that only you know that you have makeup on. This is a blend-able, build-able foundation that gives the appearance of "naked" skin.
Shell Coquillage is a light medium shade that is comparable to  MAC NC 30-35 range. I found this to be a perfect match for me. Finding a match in drugstore makeup is hard, especially for me. A lot of colors that are available from the drugstores are always too pink and never yellow enough for my skin and to find one that matches is a miracle. This foundation has an spf of 20 in the formula which is a plus in my book. Many foundation on the market only have 15 spf so for this to have 20 is very attractive to me.
 Unblended
Blended
I have been using this foundation for a while now and I like it. This is an okay foundation. The coverage is light to medium, one layer has medium light coverage and two layers is medium. This dries quickly and  to a satin finish. I do like how light it is on my skin. It feels very light and breathable. My skin does't feel heavy what so ever and I actually enjoyed wearing it. I wasn't really impressed with the lasting power, I noticed after about 5-6 hours it started to fade and my spots were more apparent. I have combination oily skin and this foundation just couldn't handle my oily skin. It started to break down and separate over my skin, on my t-zone area and the thing is, right now my skin is at its driest point of the year and it didn't fair very well. This over acne accentuated my dry patches and made my skin look flaky, however over the parts of my face that are smooth and clear my skin looked great, it evened out my skin tone and made it look even. This would be a great foundation for skin that doesn't have a lot of acne.
Before with no foundation
After, with one layer the foundation was able to even out my skin tone and take away the redness but it didn't completely cover all of my acne scars. I later went in with a concealer to further hide the acne. I personalty don't like wearing more than one layer of foundation, so I purposely didn't apply a second layer to conceal my spots.

Here I finished my whole face
Overall this is a decent foundation. It did even out my skin tone and has sufficient coverage for day to day. The lasting power is not the greatest but some powder and primer will help in prolonging the life of the foundation.  This is light weight and forgiving so this is a good foundation for everyday use. Though it has some faults I really enjoy using this foundation and is glad that I picked it up.

Review: the Balm Girls Lipstick: Mai Billsbepaid

Hello! Today I want to share my thoughts on this lipstick by the Balm. This is called Mai Billsbepaid from the  Balm girls line. This is a gorgeous nude pink color. The texture of this is smooth and creamy, with a minty taste. This is packaged in a slick sliver tube, which is boring compared to the box packaging it came in. The exterior packaging is again cute and quirky. The spin off James Bond is comical and catchy. This lipstick on me is a nice nude color, with hints of pink I love this color. I used this almost every day when I got it. This goes with every thing and is my go to day time lipstick.
This lipsticks wears for a fair amount of time after about 5 hours though it does become uncomfortable, it does start to dry out but some gloss fixes that. Overall this is one of my favorite nude lipstick, this is a classic nude that matches everything and is so easy to use and apply. It is smooth and creamy on the lips and applies evenly.

Review: bareMinerals: Mineral Veil

Hi everyone! I have a review on bareMinerals: Mineral Veil. This is a translucent finishing power for the face. This is formulated to set the makeup and have the effect of a "soft focus camera lens". This is formulated with out parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and dyes. This is available at Ulta, Sephora, and bareMineral.com and stores, and retails for $20.
I picked this up at Ulta and honestly it was a at the moment buy. I came home and slightly regretted it mainly because I really didn't need a finishing powder, I almost never use liquid face products, my foundations are powder and I don't need to set that. But I justified it by saying its my only one and it can come in handy later, so I kept it.
Overall this is a good finishing powder, it does absorb excess oil and when I do use liquid products ex: BB creams or liquid foundations this does the job in setting and making my makeup last longer. This is very light weight and doesn't cake up on top of products. The finish this gives my face is very soft and matte. This is nice in the summer as well when I wear nothing on my face and just a dust of this to mattify my face. The oil control of this product is long lasting and does very well in heat and humidity.  I didn't find this to accentuation any pores on my face like some loose powders I've tried but sometimes it can make my face feel a little dry and tight. The dryness does go away after a while or if it really bothers me i'll just give my face a quick spritz with Fix + by Mac.
I think I made the right choice in keeping this, Its good and does the job, I'm not crazy over it because its not something I use on a daily basis but it is good to have in my collection for when I need to set liquid products and when I need serious oil control.

Style Trend _ Color Blocking:Triple Scope Ice cream

Some times I can have a very mean Boyfriend, the first thing he said to me as I was walking up his deck he called my outfit a triple scope ice cream :[ sooo mean! In the end tho I kinda liked the name so it stayed with me and I liked my outfit so I still wore it out.
This is my take on the color blocking trend, I paired teal pants with a pink and white top. It has been warm and bright in Nor cal for a few days  so I decided to wear a very bright and fun outfit to match the day. I chose all pastel and "spring like colors" to add some color to off set the gloomy weather we have been experiencing recently.
I hope every one is haveing a great day!

Review: Maybelline Color Whisper: A Plum Prospect

Hello! Today I have a review on the new Maybelline Color Whisper lipstick in the color A Plum Prospect.
I was shopping at Walgreens with my boo and he came across this color and said "get this color"! This was $7 at Walgreens. These are packaged in a silver tube and a matching color lid to show the color of the product. The print of the name on the cap is very whimsical and fluid, it adds a nice touch to the overal presentation. The Whisper line of lipstick is a moisturizing line that is marketed to be a sheer wash of color.  These are pure pigment colors suspended in a gel formula so there are no heavy waxes or oils. The texture is very smooth and glides on like butter. The effect of these lipsticks give you soft and moisturized lips with sheer hints of color. I really like them, this color in particular is a beautiful pink purple. This is my kind of colored lip. This is a darker pink with the purple tone it really tones it down but still stand out. These stay on my lips for a long time and act like a lip balm. I love how my lips feel and wearing this means that I don't have to use lip balm at all.
Overall these are great moisturizing lipsticks with sheer color that act like lip balm! Awesome combination of moisture and color. Great product.

Review: Tart Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush: Peaceful, Exposed

Today I want to share my newest addiction, my Amazonian clay blushes from Tarte! I have heard so many good things about these blushes that I wanted to try them. These retail for 25$ a piece and are available at Ulta, Sephora, and Tarte.com
The colors I have are Peaceful which I got in an old collection a long time ago and Exposed, on recommendation from one of my favorite YouTube bloggers, Jen frmheadtotoe.
These blushes are long lasting and highly pigmented and I love these. These are infused with amazonian clay and are formulated to benefit the skin. I'm happy that Tarte did that and made a product with the consumer in mind but in all reality the skin benefits this blush has is not that effective.
I really like the packaging of this product. The exterior colors correspond with the interior product which makes it really easy to find and identify certain colors. The product itself is embossed beautifully with Tarte's symbol.

 Peaceful
This is a warn soft peach shade with subtle gold shimmer. I love this color. On light medium skin tones with a yellow undertones a peachy color blush looks beautiful and this blush gives my skin a beautiful wash of color and pretty golden sheen. This blush is shimmery but it just makes the skin look glowy and healthy.

 Exposed
As this picture shows I have given this blush a run for its money, I practicably used this religiously for 5 months.  This is a matte nude pink blush, it is a gorgeous color that I found to be a great blush and contour color. I purchased this blush because one of my favorite bloggers recommendation this for a blush and contour high-bred product and I can not agree more. This is a  beautiful mauve pink with brown in it so it acts as a great contour color for my skin tone and I love using this.
Exposed is on the left and Peaceful on the right.
On me this blush lasts a very long time, I have oily skin so blushes tend to fade away through out the day but these lasted all day and still looked great. I don't think that this will really last 12 hour on the skin and I have no intention of trying that out but this is most defiantly a long lasting blush.
Overall these blushed are worth the money. These are one of my favorite blushes in my collection. They are highly pigmented, long lasting and exceptional quality. These are staple blushes in my collection and are used on the daily.
