Review: Revlon Photoready cream Blush in Pinched 100

Hi everyone! Today I have a review on a new blush I picked up really recently. Its the Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Pinched. I bought this at Walmart for $10.00 but I have seen it range from 10-12 bucks elsewhere.  At first I was on the fence about the price. A drugstore blush to be 10+  is pretty pricey but I wanted to try it and I turns out I like it! This is packaged very simply in a pot with a black lid and the product name and color on the front. the back is transparent so the product is completely visible. The set up is nice and simple and the size is easy to store. Some might be deterred to this product because it's in a pot form and see it as unsanitary but all I have to say is to just keep the hands clean before use and the product should be okay.
This is a cream blush that glides on smooth and gives a soft tinge of color to the cheeks.  Pinched is a soft peach color with golden shimmers. The shimmer doesn't really show on the skin so the effect this blush gives is very soft and satin like. Pinched is a very sheer blush that only tints the cheeks on first application but this is a build able blush and at full potential this is gorgeous  Pinched on me makes my cheeks glow from within and give me a very healthy and awake appearance.  I love wearing this when I wear "minimal" makeup because it looks like I have nothing on, just a very healthy, just out of the cold cheek tinge.
The texture of this blush out of the pot is very soft and creamy. The product feels very light and smooth on the skin and is very bendable  I like to take my middle and ring fingers together to get the product and tap it onto my cheeks. I find this blush to blend very easily and seamlessly in to my cheeks. And because this blush is a sheer and build able product I love the ease and forgiveness this blush has. In stead of me worrying about if ill put to much on and spend time blending, this I can apply and lightly blend and I'm done. If I want more color I can add more.
Now the down side of this blush being so sheer is that at some times I am using a good amount of the product at one time so I can potentially see this product running out much faster than normal but for me that is okay. Overall I really like this blush, yea its sheer but its forgiving and very manageable. I like my products to be easy to work with and for those who need to work fast.
Happy Chinese New Year!

Review: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in 130 Shell Coquillage

Hi Everyone! Today I have a review on the New Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in the color 130 Shell Coquillage. I picked this up at my local Walmart for $7 and some change. I've seen this average about 7-8 dollars at Walmart and Target and about $7-$12 at other places like CVS, or Ride Aid. This is Revlon's newest foundation. Revlon claims for this to give the face a fresh even look, without the look of makeup, so that only you know that you have makeup on. This is a blend-able, build-able foundation that gives the appearance of "naked" skin.
Shell Coquillage is a light medium shade that is comparable to  MAC NC 30-35 range. I found this to be a perfect match for me. Finding a match in drugstore makeup is hard, especially for me. A lot of colors that are available from the drugstores are always too pink and never yellow enough for my skin and to find one that matches is a miracle. This foundation has an spf of 20 in the formula which is a plus in my book. Many foundation on the market only have 15 spf so for this to have 20 is very attractive to me.
 Unblended
Blended
I have been using this foundation for a while now and I like it. This is an okay foundation. The coverage is light to medium, one layer has medium light coverage and two layers is medium. This dries quickly and  to a satin finish. I do like how light it is on my skin. It feels very light and breathable. My skin does't feel heavy what so ever and I actually enjoyed wearing it. I wasn't really impressed with the lasting power, I noticed after about 5-6 hours it started to fade and my spots were more apparent. I have combination oily skin and this foundation just couldn't handle my oily skin. It started to break down and separate over my skin, on my t-zone area and the thing is, right now my skin is at its driest point of the year and it didn't fair very well. This over acne accentuated my dry patches and made my skin look flaky, however over the parts of my face that are smooth and clear my skin looked great, it evened out my skin tone and made it look even. This would be a great foundation for skin that doesn't have a lot of acne.
Before with no foundation
After, with one layer the foundation was able to even out my skin tone and take away the redness but it didn't completely cover all of my acne scars. I later went in with a concealer to further hide the acne. I personalty don't like wearing more than one layer of foundation, so I purposely didn't apply a second layer to conceal my spots.

Here I finished my whole face
Overall this is a decent foundation. It did even out my skin tone and has sufficient coverage for day to day. The lasting power is not the greatest but some powder and primer will help in prolonging the life of the foundation.  This is light weight and forgiving so this is a good foundation for everyday use. Though it has some faults I really enjoy using this foundation and is glad that I picked it up.

Ulta 20% off Sale Haul

Goodness graciousness  it has been a minute sense I last posted on my blog! a lot has been happening in my life, and I have been having too much fun with my boyfriend and busy with school! hopefully now I will be more consistent with post and can write more review and fashion post again! I have been testing out a lot of products in my absence and look forward to writing a lot of review on new products :)
On to the haul! I only picked up a few things this time. I really needed some new mascaras and liquid eyeliner so I picked up the new NYX The Curve liquid eyeliner to try out and see if its any good and so far I like it, took a couple tries to get the new handle down but so far I like it. I also picked up a new Age Rewind concealer because I broke my old one but twisting it backwards and the top part broke into pieces. I wanted to try the new Maybelline mascara in the cat eyes packaging. That alone, sold me in to getting it. I also picked up one of and oldie but goody mascara the Grow Luscious mascaras. One of my favorites.
I hope everyone is well and look forward to more posts! ^_^

Review: Revlon Lip Butter

Lip Butters! by Revlon, these have received a lot of hype and I can see why, these are lovely. I have three colors  in order of the bottom picture is
  • Cotton Candy
  • Gumdrop
  • Berry Smoothie
I bought these at my local Target for about 5-6 dollars and man these were hard to come by, when ever target restocked it was gone in a flash. But I managed to grab a few. These are a soft lip product that is overall very sheer and moisturizing. These make great as tinted lip balms because they are very moisturing and offer a light sheen of color on the lips.  The lip bullet is very soft and creamy so caution is advise when applying because it can easily break and or get smashed against the side of the lipstick case. However these are not long lasting so reapplying through out the day is necessary. I find that these are great for everyday use and make for easy and quick lip looks.

I like the packaging, the caps match the color of the product and the tops of the caps are clear which is nice  in seeing the actual color of the product. The caps snap securely and is very sturdy.  The quilt pattern is very cute and girly.

Here are swatches of the lipsticks. in order of the previous photo.  These are again very sheer and only applies a soft wash of color.,
Gumdrop: Is a light lilac purple that on the lips is more of a very cool tone purple/pink color. Its one of those hard colors to pull off. On me its very pale and an awkward color. This is my least favorite.
Cotton Candy: is a really pretty bright soft pink that has gold shimmer. This one is a pink sheen on my lips that is really shiny and pretty. This is my favorite and is the most wearable and flattering on me.
Berry Smoothie: is the most pigmented of the three. It is warm berry color that is sheer yet gives a very nice tinge of color. I looks like I have a stain on and some gloss on top. This is shiny and I love that its a light color I can sweep on.
