Fergie Wet and Wild Haul

Hi everyone! During a quick run to Walgreen I saw that there is a new Wet and Wild collection collaboration with Fergie! This collection has array of items, multiple eye shadow quads, lipsticks eyeliners and eye products. Only these items really caught my attention. I picked up the eye shadow primer and two nail polishes. The primer was about $5 and the nail polish is 3.49.
The nail polishes I picked up are Kaleidoscope ( clear polish with silver blue and turquoise glitter) and Glamorous ( clear polish with small and large gold glitter) Overall these two were a total miss. The glitter is so diluted in the clear polish, it only deposits five glitters on the nail and its impossible to layer because the formula of the polish takes forever to dry. Even used as a glitter topcoat it doesn't work for me at all.
The eye primer tho, called For My Primas is amazing for five dollars I'd say it rivals UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion) I used it on a night out and my eye shadows stayed put! I was amazed that this held up all night with out creasing or fading. Excellent purchase.
Out of this haul I only liked one item, not good ether that means I have terrible luck picking out stuff or  I'm a big sucker for glitter polishes. :P
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Lets make 2013 a year to remember!

PS: I ended up returning the nail polishes, they were not worth my time or money. They would have just sat at the bottom of my nail polish collection untouched.

Review: MAC paintpot : Soft Ochre

Hi! Today's review is on MAC paint pot in Soft Ochre. This is $17.50 a jar and is available at any MAC counter or Online.
The color I have is Soft Ochre, a warm yellow color base cream color that, I like to use as an eye primer.  MAC calls it a long wearing cream. These have become very popular choices for eye primers because they are long lasting and depending on the color you chose can act like a color neutralizing base for your eye shadows.
Soft Ochre is very smooth and creamy and applies easily on my lids and  acts very much like an eye primer, because it drys to a powder finish and helps to prevent creasing though out the day. The effect of this primer is very similar to that of Urban Decays primer potion in Eden, (I have reviewed) both are matte and yellow based products that look and act the same.
I like the sleek packaging of the product. maximum style minimum space.

Review: UD: Primer Potion in Eden and Greed

Hello today I have a duo review on Urban Decay Primer potions: Eden and Greed. I bought these online for only $10 each. That is a great deal as these are normally $18 each, and UD was having a 20% entire purchase at  the time so it was a great deal. I have also reviewed UD Primer Potion in Sin and the Original UD primer potions.
Eden: a Matte finish eye shadow primer. This is a creamy neutral tinted primer that is matte in finish. When I first tried it out it reminded me of my MAC paint pot in Soft Ocher. The color and finish is very similar. They both are similar colors and dry to a powder finish.  This is great for evening out the lid color and acts like a neutralizer for any colors on the lid.  For example, it can help cover any veins or discoloration on the eyelids and eye area. Its similar to the technique of using a white base to intensify any color placed on top of it. I feel this acts very similarly to that effect. I also like that the packaging of the bottles match the color and finish of the product.
The applicator is slanted and is in the traditional genie bottle shape. Very cute, but impractical, the slanted doe foot applicator helps but you will never be able to have access to 100% of the product unless you cut the bottle open.
Side note: For this one and the original, for me the product would always accumulate on the wand and when I put back the wand into the bottle it would build up. Its very annoying but I haven't wasted any product yet.

Overall: I like this version, its long lasting and does prolong my eye shadows and it does have that white base effect. This is a great choice for people who like to wear bright vibrant colors. The color of the primer is a nice neutral base that helps to brighten and prolong eye shadows.
Greed: is a Gold tinted primer with gold shimmer and glitter mixed into the potion. This is  very similar to the original formula only its gold in color and has shimmer in it. the texture is like a gel consistency, and when blended the color disappears and all that is left is the gold shimmer and glitter.
Like all primer potions the wand is slanted which helps in having more access to the product. For this Version I didn't have any problem with product build up on the wand which was very nice.

Overall: As a primer it works to prevent my shadows from creasing a lot longer, compared to if I were to not wear any primer but this one I'm not particularly too excited about. Its nothing more than a shimmery gold primer that is very pretty on the lids and can be worn alone. It would just be gold shimmers on the lid with no color.

Review: UD Primer Potion in Sin

Hi!, this is a review on Urban Decays Primer Potion in the color Sin. This is a eye shadow primer base that you apply to your lids before the application of your eye makeup. I have the sample size that came with an eye shadow palette I purchased. The full size product retails for about $18 at any UD counter and were ever UD is sold. Ulta, Sephora, or online.  UD.com currently has all three versions of UD primer potion on sale for $10 each! (excluding the original).
This version of the UD primer potion series: Sin is a tinted primer that has a champagne metal color the color of the tube matches that of the product.  This primer leaves a light sheen  of shimmer on the lids.
The applicator of the primer potion is a slanted sponge tip doe foot applicator. I like that it is slanted so I can reach most of the product. Over all I like this product but I have one major problem.
Like all primer potions a little bit will go a long way and to much will make your eye shadows crease. But regardless of how much I use, at the end of the day I still get creasing on my eye lids. This version is not as long lasting as the original formula.  Compared to the original formula the lasting power is not there. So for hot days or day I know I will be out and about for a long time I will not use this. But for every day and when I'm wearing minimal eye shadows, this is good.

Whos better?: Urban Decay's Primer Potion or L'oreal's De-Crease

Urban Decay's Primer Potion Vs L'oreal's De-Crease

I remember distinctly that UD's Primer Potions was my very first high end makeup purchase and I have been very happy with it, but the 18  dollar price ticket has always bothered me. So I searched for other alternatives and I saw  reviews on L'oreal's De'Crease and many people gave it high review so I bought one to try for myself. I read reviews that this is comparable to UD so that is what compelled me to try this product, however it didn't work for me.
To my disappointment it didn't perform to my expectations. It did nothing to prevent creasing. With in a few hours I had crease lines on my lids and my eye shadows were bunching up in my crease. I did many things to try and make it work, I patted my lids with tissue to absorb any extra oils on my lid, not putting any moisturizer on it, but nothing worked.

Both products are great at making the colors more viberant and a nice base to apply color on, but if it can't prevent creasing then it is out.

What I have noticed is that UD's primer potion is more for people who have oily lids and or people who are pretty active and the L'oreal is good for people who have dryer lids, and or whose lids don't hood over the main lid. My friend, who has dry lids says it is great and she likes it just as much as the UD so that how I got my conclusion.

What I do like about the De-Crease is the packaging. It is in a nice non complicated tube that is easy to get the product. The applicator is a slanted doe foot wand that makes it easy to get the primer out and on the lid with out re-application.

My only gripe about UD's Primer Potion is the packaging. I think the genie inspired bottle is cute and unique, but it is not convenient. And the shape of the tube also make it difficult to finish the whole bottle cleanly. They have tried to improve the packaging by making the applicator slanted so we, the consumers could get as much product as possible but there are still places the applicator can't reach and that means wasted product.

For this round I favor the UD's Primer potion, but if your eye lids are not oily like mine I would give the L'oreal's De-Crease a try.
