Review: Milani Baked Eye Shadows

 Hi every one I am back from my break and I have loads of stuff to share! Today I have a review on the Milani Baked eye shadows. I got these puppys off of Cherry Culture when they were having a 20% off sale on their site. These were in the clearance section.  I have 4 shadows, three marbleized and one metallic.  These eye shadows can be used wet, for a more intense look or dry, for a softer look.

 Mix it Up 609: this is a black shadow with teal and silver simmer, with a silver white marble running through it.

 This one is my favorite of the bunch, Intermix 612, a warm reddish brown with champagne color marble. And gold shimmer.

 Medley 610: is a greyish black with lots of silver shimmer

 Teal the Truth 605: is my only metallic shade, this is a very vibrant teal/turquoise color that is beautiful.

Over all I like these shadows, the Darker shades I like to use wet most of the time because it has the best payoff that way but they are also great for darkening the crease area when dry because it is sheer and leaves less room for error. Intermix is the only one I prefer dry, the color  mixed together and as a wash of color all over my lids, makes for a very quick and easy brown eye look with a darker brown at the lash line. 

I do however dislike the packaging of this product. The shape and size relative to the product is large and unnecessary. The shape of the case makes it hard to conveniently store it and all of the excessive packaging is very annoying. 

These also come with applicators that are double ended, ones a sponge tip and the other a brush. I like that its double ended but the curve of the applicator is awkward which makes it difficult to use.

Review: Milani Blush in Pink Craze

Milani Blush in Pink Craze, this is a baby pink blush. I really like this blush, it is a light pink blush that is very pretty on the cheeks. Its a warm tone pink which makes it great for my completion. I like to apply it to the apples of my cheeks, to give me that winter rosy glow.   

This is a matte blush that is decently pigmented and a little will go a long way.  The formula isn't chalky and yet very soft and it applies very nicely to the skin. It blends very easily over my face after my powder foundation.  The packaging of the blush is nice as well, I like the clear top and gold theme packaging.  The size of the packaging is also nice. Its smalls and too the point. there is no extra packaging that is making it bulky or an awkward shape.

 Overall this is a great blush, pigmented and a gorgeous color.

Review: Milani Eyeshadow Quad 03 Dream Baby

 This is a beautiful four pan neutral palette from Milani. It is called Dream Baby and it retails for 5 to 6 dollars at the drug store and online. Namely CVS in my area and www.cherryculture.com. This was gifted to me and I love it. I think that this is a really good warm tone brown and pink palette. This also has different texture shadows. 

A matte light baby pink, shimmery pink champagne color, a matte warm brown and a shimmery dark bronze brown. The mix of textures makes this palette very versatile and good for people of all ages. Theses eye shadows are decently pigmented. 

They don't swatch very well but on my eye lids they transfer very well. The least pigmented color I'd say is the pink. It took a couple of times to have it show up for the swatch, but I mostly use it as a light transition color, in between the crease and highlight color. The bronze color though is intense. This color is very pigmented and a little bit will go a long way.

Out of this quad I have been able to do multiple types of eye looks which makes this quad very versatile. I can do simple one color looks to more complicated multidimensional looks (meaning more than one color).

 

Overall I really like this. When I travel I like to take this palette because is has the basic neutral eye shadows perfect for everyday use.

Whos Better?: Milani Liquif'eye vs Urban Decay 24/7

In my search for a comparable eyeliner to the ever popular Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero  I believe I have found the answer.

The Milani Liquif'eye in 01 black. This retails for about 6-9 dollars at drugstores, and were ever Milani is sold. This is by far my favorite eyeliner. It is extremely pigmented, a true black eyeliner. It is a smooth and creamy liner that dries fast and once it is set it will not move. It doesn't move, budge or smudge through out the day. The product is perfect for tight lining the top lid and bottom waterline. For me this is the longest lasting eyeliner for the waterline. These are also great for when you want to have eyeliner on but not a harsh line and you can easily smudge it out before it dries to create a lived in eyeliner look. once its dried your locked in till you take it off. I must also mention the packaging. It is in a sleek matte black wrapping that makes it look high end.

Can Urban Decay's ever popular 24/7 liner in Zero live up to this? yes and no.

The Urban Decay liner retails for $18  at Sephora, Ulta, and were ever Urban Decay is sold. UD's eyeliner is equally just as creamy and long lasting but it is not as pigmented. Compared to Milani it still very light and grey and it takes a couple of swipes to get really opaque especially on the waterline, top and bottom. The lasting power of Zero is also not as good as Milani. It smudges faster than Milani and if I run my finger over my swatch there are smudge marks.

Both Eyeliners work the same and are both very good eyeliners. I however favor the Milani one over the UD 24/7 because it is cheaper and performs better in being much more opaque.
